I like turning 2D concepts into 3D objects and scenes! I started my
journey into 3D modeling by interpreting pixel art dragons and skeletal
schematics of dinosaurs.
I’ve found I’m very nitpicky about having as optimized topology as possible, even when it’s not needed. I’m currently challenging myself by creating static scenes where the models are allowed to be messy because they’re
intended to be viewed from a set angle.
I have some hobby background in making patterns for crafts, so figuring out how UV mapping works came naturally.
Painting textures by hand is probably my favourite part! I can also create
procedural materials, but haven’t quite yet managed to bake them.
I love wild, stylized, “non-traditional” shaders and I’m eager to learn more about making and utilizing them!
I have the basics and theory of rigging and animation well internalized,
but I’m not yet adept at getting the weights right or building
controllers.

Creativity hast to be my favourite soft skill and one of my
unquestionable strengths. It can be applied to everything and anything.
I’m a huge fan of clear communication, so many conflicts can be avoided or mitigated by good communication.
Critical thinking is non-negotiable. Especially when spreading misinformation and directing people and opinions is easier than ever.
I’m good at adapting to new situations and environments.
I firmly believe that change is possible for most people, including myself. Growth is a lifelong journey and if I so wish, I never stop learning.
Learning new things is fun and I have a strong internal drive to it. Even if it’s just obscure trivia with no practical use, I can have it as a mental bookmark from where to reach for something else, or I can pepper it in a conversation for fun.
Helping people learn brings me joy and teaching is a fantastic way to reinforce my own learning.
Blender is an undeniable powerhouse and is growing its status in the industry. I’ve done some work on Maya and 3DMax, but I prefer the accessibility and forgiving processing cost of Blender.
I started my journey in digital art with Microsoft Paint, like many others, but my first Photoshop was Elements 2.0 way back in the day. From that I graduated to CS3 for about a decade before eventually upgrading to CS6.
Clip Studio Paint was called Manga Studio 5 when I swapped to it from Easy Paint Tool SAI (an excellent lightweight art program to this day!) by a recommendation from a friend. CSP is the art program I’m most familiar with.
Procreate was the siren song that lured me to purchase an iPad Pro after playing with it at a friend’s place. Extremely intuitive and comfortable to use, and these days I do most of my work on it.
Aseprite is my go-to pixel art program. Versatile and easy to use, and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in pixel art.
Microsoft Office is the necessary evil in today’s society, and I’m proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
Notion, PureRef, Trello and Slack are programs that I have used mostly in project management and organization
I can confidently say that I’m an HTML/CSS oldhead. I used to have
elaborate homepages for my Neopets in the merry old early-to-mid 2000s
and I made dozens of nonsense websites for fun.
With my previous knowledge, getting a hang of WordPress turned out to be
surprisingly smooth. I really appreciate how my old knowhow isn’t
obsolete but an asset.
I took a brief look at Python a couple of years back. I can read and understand most of what I see, but I currently lack productive skills. Given time, I’m sure I could learn it better.
I love building fictional worlds, creatures, societies, scenarios,
histories, religions, so on and so forth, and I get in there deep. I
start with something small and next thing I know there’s an entire
mycelium of aspects around it while I’m doing a wiki dive on the
prominent families of 14th century Florentine Republic.
I took an interest in textiles during my employment at Kierrätyskeskus. We weren’t expected to study the materials, per se, but in my mind it was odd of me to try and sell things I didn’t know anything about. So I started reading and learning about different fabrics, leathers, yarns and tools, and ended up being the unofficial embroidery specialist in our team. I’m proud to say that my coworkers and our team leader came to me for questions about different materials because there was a high chance I either had the knowledge or would have it in a few minutes.
Copywriting sounds genuinely fun and I always enjoy seeing fine
wordplay. I read and write a lot and have got a lot of compliments for
my word choices in my expression.
I love good textures and texture painting, so learning to utilize Substance Painter would be the logical next step.
Good video editing is a joy to behold, and I’d be thrilled to add those skills to my roster.
Game development is one of my true passions. I know a lot about it from dabbling in it as a hobby. While getting elbow-deep in code may not be where I shine, writing, visuals and/or quality assurance are things I’d be more than happy to take part in.
Typography is something that has eluded me for long and I’ve been thinking about taking a course in it in the future. I want to know what makes fonts tick and what separates a good font from bad on a technical level.
